This year’s Rubber Sheet Meeting took place on May 20th and 21st in Reutlingen, Germany. On the first day, after a short welcome at REIFF, we went straight to the company SPÄH in Scheer, which is an essential supplier for REIFF and other EDiS members. SPÄH is a steadily growing group of companies with four locations and more than 500 employees in Germany.
The family-owned company brings more than 50 years of experience to the supply industry and as a partner for the technical trade in the field of seals, stampings, semi-finished and individual parts as well as tool and mold construction for a wide variety of industries.
After the informative company visit and subsequent discussion, we made a short stopover in Zwiefalten. At the heart of the old monastery and pilgrimage site is the minster “Our dear Lady,” one of the most important buildings of the late Baroque. The day ended with a cozy dinner on the Achalm. On the second day, the meeting took place at REIFF. The first item on the agenda was the election of the new group leader. Tommy Pettersson (Lundgrens) was elected in unison for the next two years.
Subsequently, all group members briefly presented the sales figures and highlights of the past year and exchanged views on the strengths and weaknesses of collective suppliers. The current market situation was also discussed. Starting points for cooperation between the EDiS members were agreed on. After lunch, a tour of the REIFF logistics center and production took place and concluded the event. All participants took new experiences, motivation, and ideas home and are looking forward to the next year’s meeting in Stockholm.
